Sharing a Bedroom

Rebekah is officially moved into Caleb's room!  I need to stop calling it Caleb's room!  Right now, they are both thrilled to be in the same room.  Rebekah loves sleeping on the big bed (she was in a toddler bed still). We moved a toy box to the basement, but otherwise everything fit perfectly.  There's even extra room in the closet!  They have yet to actually sleep during a nap time though...

See the lower bar in the closet that Rebekah's clothes are hanging on?  That is the best thing in the world!  Having all her shirts and skirts hanging low means that she can pick out her clothes and get dressed herself, as in, without my help!!!  Sometimes she picks out some crazy combinations, but that's okay with me!  Only her church clothes and a few out of season outfits are hanging on the top bar.

Do your kids share a room?  How does it work out in your family?

  2. My 4 and 2 year olds share a room. We switched them about 6 weeks before our youngest was born, when they were just barely 3 years and 18 months old.

It took a while for them to learn to nap in the same room, and almost as long to go to sleep at night without being silly. Over time, we learned that turning on a story CD (Adventures in Odyssey, Clifford, etc) makes all the difference because they'll lay quietly listening, rather than driving each other crazy!

The room looks good. Hopefully your kids adjust to the change quickly!
